I'm so grateful for:
My job. I may not be doing what I want in life (which is, I don't know), but I'm good at what I do and it pays the bills.
My man who gets me and who doesn't try to change me and all of my in-perfectness. Ninety percent of the time he takes my mood swings with a grain of salt and he remains the calm balanced person I need him to be. Super blessed in this department.
My trip to Las Vegas in 47 days! Hotel booked, dinner reservations made, facial scheduled. It's going to be a good one.
The flight I booked this weekend to San Francisco for a girls weekend in August.
My baby Beeps who turns 10 this month.
Beeps and I taking selfies! Follow us on Instagram |
Black coffee, especially if it's served in fine china on a lazy Sunday at home and it's accompanied by some breakfast chocolate.
Garbage t.v. like the Real Housewives of anywhere and my newest find Southern Charm. There's nothing like crappy reality t.v. to get you out of your own head.
The friendships I'm building here.
The beautiful sun that is still shining at 6:27! Remember guys, I don't drive at night so this is freedom for me.
My new little Buddha gifted to me today by a co-worker.
Being childfree and getting to go to bed super early tonight to make up for the time change and staying up too late last night.
I guess the key is focusing on the things we're grateful for rather than the things that are disturbing us right. What are you grateful for today?
So jealous of your trip to Vegas and your trip to San Fran! SOOOO jealous!
ReplyDeleteRight back at you miss Austin and week at the Cape. We're lucky girls :-) Have a great day Katie!
DeleteLove your list! It really is the simple things that make us the most grateful isn't it? I love that it's lighter later too...my husband and I were out running an errand just before 7 and it was still light. There may be hope for spring yet (as I'm trying to ignore a winter storm watch for my area on Weds.and Thursday!).
ReplyDeleteAnne, you're dead on. I definitely think I'll be starting my week with a grateful post going forward. It's such an amazing way to teach myself to be more positive and I love reading other peoples, so hopefully people will love reading mine too :-). I'll be crossing my fingers that the storm blows right past you or at least that it's the last one for the season. Have a great day.
DeleteI love the selfie, Beeps is such a little Diva <3
ReplyDeleteoh my word so much awesomeness coming up for you Missy, I've never been to Vegas or San Fran, ultimate dream, well pretty much all of America is my ultimate dream! I just need to find a big hunky American to marry (sorry Glenn).
That was so nice of your work friend, may he bring you happiness and rub his belly! For monies right?
<3 early nights I'm such a wee granny mush these days, can't handle the late nights lol though in fairness I start work prettty early.
To being positive, here here! XO
Yes, to being positive. Always easier when you have a few great trips on the horizon. Now if only I could learn to be positive when things weren't going so well :-)
DeleteI would absolutely love it if you came to the states, I could be your tour guide! I'll keep an eye out for that rich guy for you.
Have a super fantastic day miss Sarah. Hugs
It is good to practice gratitude- I think it lifts the mood. I started keeping a little notebook that I write in every night- I list 5 things I'm grateful for that day (mainly the highlights of my day), as well as 5 things I need to do the next day (because otherwise those thoughts keep me from falling asleep). Some days, I'm really reaching for 5 things to be grateful for, and other days, I'm overflowing with things. But it's nice to remind myself.
ReplyDeleteBeeps looks like she might want her own Instagram account- she's kind of stealing the show.
And amen to being lighter later! It was great to get home from work at 6:30 and take my dog for a walk.
Beeps definitely stole the show didn't she? She's such a sweet girl.
DeleteI love your idea as not only doing a list of grateful but a list of things that you need to do for the next day so that your mind doesn't run thinking about them all as you're lying in bed, that's brilliant I used to keep a journal but give up on it when I had a rough patch because coming up with five things I was grateful for proved to be incredibly difficult. I may give it a go again. It's so important and even in my worst moments I have more than five things I can be grateful for, it's all about having the right state of mind.
Have a good day sweetie Rachel.
So jealous of your Vegas trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was supposed to go in May with a bunch of girlfriends but had to back out. :(
ReplyDeleteHey beautiful lady! I'll be sure to have a cocktail for you. What would you like? Xo
DeleteHaha, I still haven't gotten used to the time change. I was up till midnight last night and my usual bedtime is around 10. Needless to say, I'm exhausted this morning!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Jenna, I'm right there with you. I was up until 11:45 last night. I feel like a zombie! Here's hoping we both get a good nights sleep tonight. It's so great to hear from you. Have a fantastic day
Deleteyay for upcoming trips! i have a trip to miami planned for vegas and I CANT WAIT!

Woot woot party people! Did you get a good deal on a flight Kathy?
DeleteWhat a cute picture! Beeps is definitely diva all the way ;) It's nice to try to focus on what we are grateful for and I try to remind myself of that too. Trips always make me feel better...I like having something "big" to look forward to. I was dragging all day yesterday...and still had trouble getting up today...but I LOVE the time change too. Yay for more sunlight.
ReplyDeleteI love so many on your list! Vegas, Chicken Tikka, Childfree lifestyle. It is always a wonderful thing to think about what you are grateful for so that you can deal with the crappies. The glass really is half full even if we sometimes just see it as half empty.
ReplyDeleteLove this! I am so bad about writing about things that are going wrong instead of about things I am grateful for! I followed you on Instagram!
ReplyDeleteBuddha!
ReplyDeleteI love grateful lists. And I really love your photo of your coffee in your fancy saucer. I think I'll use one of my grandmom's this weekend.
Definitely agree with some of these things! I can't get behind the black coffee (I need my creamer!!), though haha. Have so much fun in San Francisco!!

Today I'm grateful to have some time off! Life has been busy and to get time to breathe is big time welcomed. I'm also grateful to make some progress with a running cramp I've been experiencing for months. Way to be positive - super jealous of you vacation!
ReplyDeleteI love Vegas! Can't wait to hear what you have planned (and where you are eating!). Your cat is so cute - I just followed you on IG so I expect more cat pics, lady!
