It Feels So Good

I've had a load of laundry in the dryer for 5 days now and instead of folding it and putting it away, I continue to walk outside (because my laundry room isn't attached to our house) and pull what I need from the dryer one piece at a time.  Does it get any lazier than that?

Until I found Citizen Of Humanity jeans I literally riped the ass out of every pair of jeans I owned.  Small waist, big bootie.

My January Spending Freeze isn't going so well.  More on that Feb 4th.

I can't stand the word vintage.  It's overused.  Something two years old is not vintage people.

Sometimes I have terrible thoughts that D will die at work and that I'll end up a young widow.  I've let the thoughts go so far over the years that I've developed a plan for what I'll do if that ever happens.

If D's has to work late and I'm home alone for dinner, I let the cats sit on the kitchen table and keep me company.

I was cigarette free for 6 and a half years but have smoked 3 times in the last six months.  Last week I pulled into a convenient store paarking lot to buy a pack.  I didn't get out of the car and ended up heading home.  I hate that I smoked and that I want to again.

I miss reading books, like actual books, not books on the ipad.

I have 1-2 alcoholic beverages 4-5 times a week.

Sometimes I wish D and I could agree to sale everything we own (the house, the cars, all of our worldly possessions) and go live in a trailer or tiny cabin somewhere in the middle of nowhere.  Just the two of us living a very simple life.

I get chin hair.

Confess with me.  It feels so good!  Don't want us to know who you are, no biggie.  Just leave a comment below annomyously.  Happy Monday friends.

  2. Oh these are good confessions! I have to admit that with my over active imagination, I fear being a widow all the time too. That's so morbid! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I pray you and I never have to deploy those backup plans :) Thanks for saying hi on my blog so I could find yours too! Looking forward to following along. (And ps I'm in San Diego too... livin' the good life :)

  3. I get major chin hair. I think we all do and whoever says they don't is lying.

I wish smoking didn't kill you. I'd do it forever because I loved it.

  4. Great post! I four get chin hair also and it makes me super self-conscious as I'm very dark naturally. And it grows super fast too :( I recently bleached it between waxes, meh :/ And am trying another bloody pill for it.

I also miss reading actual books! Though I'm not allowed to buy all that many as we are "travelling". Can't wait for when I actually settle somewhere to have a huge wall filled with them :) Oldies too - binder smell...

Cats sitting on the table - hilarious. Though how do you keep them from giving up the jig when D is home? ha

I too hate doing washing, I go through phases of OCD though and every last piece must be washed, awful.

I love these type of posts, good on you girl :)

    1. Have you tried threading Sarah! I have my brows threaded regularly and have on occasion had my chin and lip threaded too. It seems to last quite a while. Maybe look into it :). If it makes you feel any better I think the proof that we all get chin hair is in these comments. You're not alone.

As for the cats sitting on the table. I guess it's time for another confession, ha! I've allowed it to happen so many times that they now think they're allowed up there anytime. D is always telling me "look what you started". For the most part, I don't mind, but it's pretty embarssing when we have guests and one of them jumps up there. Eeekkkkk

I totally giggled about your OCD with laundry. Been there, done that. I go through phases where I rip the house apart, curtains, rugs, you name it. Everything gets washed.

I love these posts too! That's part of what makes having your own blog so much fun. I use to read other people's blogs and want to join in on the fun, now I can. Have a great day friend.

      XO,
      Shannon

  5. I think this type of post was so interesting to read! I can't believe that your washing machine is not attached to your house! I would never to laundry then haha

    1. Hey Darcey, In southern CA it's pretty common to have your laundry room in your garage or like me, completely detatched from your house (unless of course you have a newer home). My house was built in the 60's though. It's definitely not the best scenario for us laxy people, but I guess back in the day the thought was that the weather here is so great that walking out your back door along yoru pool to a seperate laundry room isn't that crazy. Funny how a few decades can change things :)

  8. I have really horrible thoughts about dying alone too! I tend to obsess and worry about everything and it's really annoying. And stressful.

    1. Luckily I only have these thoughts once or twice a year. I have no idea what brings them on, but they are absolutely terrible. I think creating "a plan" is my way of trying to protect myself. I'm a planner by nature so in the event that something terrible like losing D ever happens, I can deploy my plan and hopefully put one foot in front of the other. I know that probably sounds mechanical, but whatever works right. Sending you peace and comfort Cece. XO

  9. Bahahaha... I get chin hairS! Like, there's a gang of 5 of them. They're fucking merciless! The other day Pete actually pointed one out to me because he saw it glinting in the light. Yikes.

  11. Okay, well my confession is that I I tried the whole "sell everything and live out of a trailer" and it's not my fave. While it's nice to simplify, waking up to frozen water pipes or fuses blown by electric heaters is NOT fun.
Oh, and I get chin hairs too. They make me feel like one of the 3 little pigs! :D

    1. Ha, yes, I'm sure you're right Mollie. The grass is always greener, I guess that's just human nature. There's something really comforting about the thought of living a simpler life though. I guess I took it to the extreme (like I usually do). Here's to finding a middle ground. Hope you're well and thank you so much for stopping by. xo

    1. Elle, Diet Coke is right up there and absolutely a tough one too kick. D is totally addicted to Diet Pepsi (like a 12 pack a day addicted.) Good luck cutting it out. You can do it!!!

  13. Love the honesty here. I also worry that sometimes my husband won't come home from work and panic like a crazy for no reason. My brain never shuts down and I'm thinking about 200 things at once at almost all hours of the day.
