Gift Guide For Him, By Him

Lantern | Hoodie | Christmas Vacation Moose Mugs | ipad | Guitar | Lamp | Xbox 1 | Boots | Slippers

So D didn't actually put this post together, but he was kind enough to share his Christmas list with me.  My guess is that shopping for most guys probably isn't an easy feat, so I thought some inside scoop might be nice.  D has some unconventional interests (mainly his love of Slayer) but it would be easy to swap the Slayer guitar for memorabilia from your guys favorite band, or the Philadelphia Flyers hoodie for one from your dudes favorite sports team.  Let's face it ladies, while a v-neck sweater and box of cigars might work for some guys, gift giving isn't one size fits all.  These men are more complicated than we give them credit for.

I'd LOVE to hear what some of your best gift giving ideas for your guys have been.  What went over well?  Share your successes with us.

And now a very special gift for one of you.  Let me first say I loved reading all of your "little blog" recommendations.  I added many of them to my reading list, so a big thank you!.  And now for our winner.  Congratulations to......my first ever giveaway winner, ROBIN WILLIAMS.  Check your inbox Robin

See you all back here Friday with my Friday Favorite.

P.S for you new bloggers.  I wanted to share that I used random.org for today's giveaway (I used the list randomizer) and it couldn't have been easier.  Bonus, it's free.  I looked into rafflecopter, but there's a fee associated and let's be real, this is a low budget operation :).  It also didn't seem very user friendly.  Anyways, if you plan on hosting any sort of giveaway, give random.org a try.

Nordstrom Holiday Gift-It Guide

Hello friends!  So I know last week I said I'd have my picks from the November Nordstrom catalog, but seeing as how November is behind us, I figured I'd skip on ahead to December's Gift-it Guide.  You guys don't mind right, besides nobody likes to live in the past.

So, I was at my local Nordstrom on Saturday, and let me just say, the place looked amazing.  I love seeing my favorite department store all decked out for the holidays!  I especially loved that they had little gift tables set up in each department with great gift giving ideas (a lot of which were under $100).
I was walking through handbags when I spotted this fun piece.  For $34 it's the perfect stocking stuffer or gift for a girlfriend.

Fuzzy sweaters haven't been this big since I was in Jr. High.  I'm personally loving their comeback, but I have yet to find "the one".  I picked up this Anthropologie sweater a few months back, but ended up returning it because it was way too boxy.  I think this sweater definitely has potential and lets face it, I'm a sucker for a heart print.  Side note, at 34 am I too old for a heart print?

I featured this infinite love necklace in my What A Girl Wants, For Christmas post and I have it on good authority that it will be mine!  It's been on my wishlist all year and I still love it.

Burberry watch, this was one of those look at the brand and price only after you've fallen totally in love.  Never a good idea.

Jo Malone, because I can NEVER decide which scent I want most so I end up walking away empty handed.  This is brilliant.

I wanted these TOMS booties so bad last Fall, but they sold out right away and then never came back in stock.  When I saw them at my local Nordstrom in August, I immediately purchased a pair in taupe.  I haven't stopped wearing them since.  They go with just about anything  and are so comfortable.

Nordstrom is killing it in their home department this year.  First with the Spoon Me pillow, and now with this.  Flip it over and the pillow reads "Not Tonight".  So fricken cute.

I'll be dreaming of these bad boys for years to come, always wishing I had them.  How often do you see gold boots.  I love you Tory Burch.

And last but not least, this super expensive but gorgeous Eileen Fisher sweater.  When I'm rich, I'll have one for everyday of the week!

Browse the Nordstrom Gift-It Guide and let me know what your favorite piece is.  Have a great day all!

For The Host And Hostess

Happy Sunday friends.  I hope you've all having a beautiful weekend!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought I'd kick off my holiday gift guides with a few of my favorites for the host and hostess.   There's really no sweeter gift than opening up your home to friends and family during the holidays, so it's always nice to bring a little something to say thank you.  Bonus, each of these gifts is under $30.

Festive and perfect for the kitchen or guest bath!

I'm a sucker for all things monogrammed (my family likes to remind me that I've been writing "Property of Shannon" on my belongings from an early age), that aside, the best part about a personalized gift is that it let's your hosts know that a thank you wasn't an afterthought.

Nothing screams celebration like champagne.  This is my favorite and for under $20 buy 2!

I've yet to meet anyone who wouldn't want one of these.

This is more than a beef stick and cheese for so many of us.  Hickory Farms is that warm holiday family feeling, it's nostalgic.  My grandparent's would send us a huge box every Christmas and I can't go a holiday without it.

It's always nice to give a little something to symbolize the season.  I'd be sure to buy a bag of fresh walnuts to go along with this adorable reindeer.

These are amazing and would look great on a couples dresser.  I chose the D, K and $ above  (our monogram) but the skies the limit.
